Skin Aging and Wrinkles Problems

Posted in: Skin Care |

Aging and wrinkles are the worst enemies for our skin. Although there is nothing we can do to prevent these tell tale signs of aging, there are always ways to delay their appearance. Skin starts the process of aging almost from the moment you’re born, so if you really want to control those skin aging and wrinkles, you need to start early!

What causes skin aging and wrinkles?

Over time, the important components of skin, elastin and collagen, start to break apart and skin starts to lose the elasticity, its underlying structure and its ability to spring back into shape. The reproduction of its cells slows with age causing fat cells and oil glands to atrophy. While this happens, the emulsions production designed to keep skin moist slows and skin starts to become dry. Add in the gravity effects and soon the jowls, arms and eyelids begin to sag.

Several other environmental factors give their contribution to the onset of skin aging and wrinkles. Smoking cigarette, pollution on the air, laughing and frowning, and unprotected exposure to the sun rays all play their own role. What’s different about these environmental factors is that most are within a person’s ability to control. So while there is nothing we can do to stop the aging process, we can always stop the factors that contribute to its acceleration.

Skin aging and wrinkling can be slowed down by always putting a proper protection to the skin from the sun’s damaging ultraviolet rays. These rays can diffuse unprotected layers of skin. They produce a certain radiation that can seriously and permanently damage the cells that form skin tissue. UVA rays are believed capable of releasing oxidants, unstable particles that cause large cell damage.

Smoking cigarette promotes the release of oxidants as well. Oxidants are slowing down the production of new collagen and elastin. Also known as free radicals, the best way to protect us against their negative effects is by consuming a diet rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Smoking also limits the blood flow in the epidermis, it will make skin doesn’t get enough nutrients it needs to stay healthy.

The repetitive nature of cigarette smoking, specifically the repetitive contraction of the muscles surrounding the mouth, will accelerate skin aging and wrinkling as do the muscle contractions that occur when we are laughing and frowning. Air pollution contributes to wrinkles process by depriving the skin of Vitamin E, another important antioxidant.

Skin care tips for anti-aging and wrinkles

By keeping our skin clean and moist is the best skin care regime for anti-aging and wrinkles. It’s better than most of those high priced anti aging solutions that promise to end wrinkling. Wash the skin with warm water and gentle cleaner and pat skin dry so some moisture remains. Hot water and harsh soaps wipe out skin essential oils and increase dryness. Also avoid any skin care products with dyes or perfumes that may further irritate skin. Gently remove eye makeup as the skin surrounding the eyes is very soft and prone to wrinkling. And there you have it – simple, easy and cheap skins care for anti-aging and wrinkles.

Aging is a process that is definitely unstoppable and unfortunately, so is wrinkles. So we have to protect our skin by living in a healthy lifestyle. Eat the right diet, exercise our body, don’t smoke and avoid excess alcohol consumption.
