You apply a new medication for your acne that promises fast results in just 7 days, but for this you have to put your best face forward today. Then you think, is there any other things you can do to avoid stepping out your front door wearing a ski mask?
Sure, there is a way for this. What you need to do is learning these few creative acne makeup-concealing tips that will help you look your very best while at school, work or play.
Remember, this is a makeup conceals acne; it doesn’t cure your acne!
But, Hey, I already knew that, I heard you said. Sure, using makeup to conceal acne isn’t too difficult, but you need to know that there are some basic rules on this that you should always follow.
The basic acne makeup toolkit you need.
You will need these three acne-hiding makeup weapons, a concealer, a foundation and a finishing powder. Try to stay away from those dollar stores and always use only brand names you trust.
Please remember that you need to choose only makeup products that are oil-free and match your skin type. Oil-free product is the key for your success here so you need to read the product labels carefully. I’m sure you don’t want to aggravate your existing acne problem by layering a fresh coat of oil on skin that already has too much to begin with. Try to choose a hypoallergenic brand while you’re at it.
If this is your first time using a new product brand, always test the product by apply it in a small dab to a spot under your jaw and see how your skin reacts. If you are going to have a skin problem with that product you’ll know within an hour or so after applying it. There’s nothing worse than adding more blotches to an already colourful face.
Before you begin you need to wash your face with your normal face cleansing product and pat dry. Then apply your acne medication, follow the instructions and let it dry thoroughly.
Then start with the concealer; apply it in a light dabbing motion directly to the dark blotches or red areas on your face that the acne has produced on your skin. Using a disposable facial sponge blend the concealer in. Use the concealer sparingly. You can always apply more of it if you need it but you don’t want to layer it on too thickly since it will look terrible when it dries.
Next, apply the foundation sparingly as well and always use a light dabbing motion here too. With your sponge blend the foundation and reapply to the areas that need it.
And then, for the final touch, using a large makeup brush applies a light layer of the oil-free powder. This will reduce any shine that the acne concealer and foundation left behind and it will also give you an even and finished look.
Don’t forget to throw away those disposable sponges when you have finished so you don’t transfer yesterday’s skin oil to tomorrow’s clean face!
Always remember to wash your face thoroughly before you go to bed to remove all your makeup, but it will be better if you do it as soon as you can after you return home. You need to let your skin to breath and your acne to get as much fresh air as possible.
