Pain killers if used properly and taken as prescribed are actually save for us and will not cause addiction. However nowdays pain killer addiction and prescription drug abuse is one of the largest growing problems in America. Research has shown that more than a million people in America alone use prescription opiod painkillers. To make it even worse, many of them use pain killers illegally.

Problems will start to appear when those pain killers (and other opiates) are consumed for long time and our body become tolerant to those medicnes. This will lead to an addiction where they will need to consume higher and higher doses to get the same effect. And if the opiate consuming is stopped it will lead to Opiate Withdrawl.

Vicodin is probably one of the most abused prescription drugs. Many people become addicted to vicodin. Vicodin Addiction has become a common problem to our society. And being addicted to vicodin (or other pain killers) is definitely not a good experience.

For anyone who has any problems with drug dependence there is a good news to them after FDA approved a new treatment called Suboxone. Many people has proved that suboxone can succesfully treat opiate dependency. Mostly Suboxone is used to treat patients to get off of heroin or opiates. Suboxone treatment can be called as a dramatic improvement over traditional methods where can only helps few addicts.
